Creamy Potato Bake
This recipe is one of my mom’s classics and a family favourite. Quick to prepare and big rewards at the end!
What you will need:
- 10-12 Medium sized potatoes
- 2 packets White Onion Soup powder
- 500ml Fresh Cream
- 1 ½ cups grated Cheddar Cheese
Preheat the oven to 180˚C
Peel potatoes and thinly slice them.
Hint: I find this dish works best if slices are roughly half a centimeter thick. Any thicker will increase cooking time.
Lightly grease a large oven safe dish.
Place the first layer of potato slices in the bottom of the dish and sprinkle with onion soup and Aromat. Continue layering potato, onion soup and Aromat until you’ve used all the potatoes.
End with a layer of soup powder and Aromat.
Spread the cheddar cheese over the potatoes.
Pour the fresh cream over the dish evenly. (Reduced fat cream could be used as a healthier alternative)
Bake in the oven for 1 hour or until potatoes are soft and the cheese has browned slightly.
This dish serves 10 – 12 people.
